APOCALYPTO [2006] ▀ NOT SO WELL-KNOWN MEL GIBSON'S MAYAN STORY
Failing to believe in sci-fi and the high-tech industry, I’m beginning to think that the future is not as interesting as the past.
And this feeling isn’t triggered by nostalgia, it’s something more fundamental and solid that leads me to think this way.
A movie geek friend of mine recommended [Apocalypto]
, and I’m just sharing this excellent offering with all the readers of this website.
In today’s reality, we don’t have many great movies, but this one surely belongs to the finest category.
Historical. Educational. Entertaining.
A solid plot, an extremely immersive soundtrack, and very epic [but without a superhero in red underpants]
.
Maybe a bit overding melodrama thing, but still worth watching.
In the early 2000s, camera quality wasn’t the best, so the picture is sometimes overexposed with lower
dynamic range, but even that can’t spoil the overall feeling of movie’s sublimity.
The problem with modern “so-called films” is that they have the best possible technical equipment,
but they’re shooting atrocious, universally stupid stuff wrapped in cheap plastic CGI.
