Despite the fact that i am a complete dummy when it comes to repairing computer boards i like to watch this awesome guy saving legendary machines one by one.
Also, I know that a substantial amount of visitors to this website come here for Amiga related stuff and that was the primary motivation for this post.
Moreover, it turns out that computer repairs are quite meditative and help me to distance myself from real life rave events happening behind my window and keep my brain clean and busy for yellow press “news”.
Not so long ago i stumbled upon a very nice [sadly abandoned] YT channel dedicated to retro hardware. In showcased video author reviewed [Rendition Verite]
, a deeply flawed card which had the distinction of being the first “programmable graphics processor” or GPU for the IBM PC compatible computers. It was also pretty much the only card that could compete with the Voodoo1 when it was released. Also make sure to check [other videos of the channel]
, they are very high-quality in terms of material presentation.
Some really progressive techno trance stuff dedicated to cyberpunk, virtual reality and AI things.

Brilliant high quality review of a really interesting and compact SCSI card for those of you who want to keep your Amiga up to date.

Bring your museum 4.7Mhz XT machine up to the performance of an AT 286 machine. In those days, productivity gains were measured in times, not the measly percentage units that currently are common practice in the marketing world today. Adrian has done a very interesting review of such a rare accelerator. Thanks fly out to him, enjoy!

You can say what you want, but the fact that the 90s is the golden age of the coolest SciFi is an undeniable fact. Despite its rather simple and somewhat childish plot, [FIFTH ELEMENT]
raises quite important questions about human existence. From a design point of view, I like the fact that the movie mostly shows real decorations, not just soulless computer graphics, which certainly adds analog warmth to the movie.
I think that [LOVE, DEATH AND ROBOTS]
is quite overrated. Most of the episodes are true beauties in terms of drawing quality, but the plot leaves much to be desired in most cases.

Here is a list of the most cool episodes by my standards. So you don’t have to waste your valuable time on obvious junk.
► Season 1
[Three Robots]
► Season 2
[Pop Squad]
[Snow In The Desert]
[All Through the House]
[Life Hutch]
► Season 3
Is it Friday or not, for God’s sake? Here are some retro-O-matic tracks right in your years. For some reason, unlisted or private videos can’t be viewed on the mobile version of the site, although the desktop template works fine. I am investigating the matter.

For me, the [Atari Falcon]
was as cool as the later Amigas. Some people claim that Falcon had less custom chips and less GFX capabilities compared to Amiga. On the other hand, Falcon was a bit faster CPUs in standard configurations, native MIDI support, but more importantly it had special sound DSP capable of 16-bit 48Khz sound output, the thing that was too cool even for Amiga. That is why computer was so popular in music studios at the time.
Despite the fact that i’m not a MIDI person, i find this video loaded with interesting technical and historical facts about the era. So, take a look if you have spare time!

If you were a fan of the original Fallout series, you already know Mark Morgan, one of the most unique composers of the 90s. His soundtrack for Fallout 1/2 has already status of a classic masterpiece in the game OST genre.
Today I would like to introduce you to [Andrew Lahiff]
. He makes exceptionally good space ambient tracks that sometimes resemble the atmosphere of Fallout.
Just listen to these tracks:
A friend of mine introduced me to [Lebrock]
band by sending me a tune he liked. I’ve searched YT and find out that crew is surely has multiple hits in their repertory.
Here is a nice couple.

The Amiga 4000 is a computer that was way ahead of its time, and this was true for many years in a row. The architecture had no competing alternatives for a very long period.
Ability to install an additional processor through a special accelerator board. So in the end you own multi processor platform (in 1995!).
Custom chips for hardware accelerated processing requests for I/O systems, sound, video.
Three levels of RAM: fast memory (conventional ram), chip memory on the motherboard, the possibility to increase the RAM even more by means of Zorro III adapter.
Most of you are probably thinking why there are no posts for such a long time. I was quite overloaded with real life events. Anyways, here’s a bunch of atmospheric retrowave tracks for you.No junk, no fluff, only solid stuff. As always.

Forget about last two [or so] seasons, because they are complete boredom!
As for me, i think that [YOUNG SHELDON]
is a worthy prequel to [Big Bang TV-series]
. Great warm analog atmosphere of 80s.Watched it excitedly in one gulp. A bit too pop, with rare deterioration in scenario quality but very solid in terms of actor performance and overall design. If you have bad mood for some reason this thing will fix you up at no time.
I’m not a big fan of [Godfrey Reggio]
as a non-verbal filmmaker, because of dominance of marvelous [Ron Fricke]
in this category. But [Once Within A Time]
surely hit the spot in a right way. Unconventional mind cleaner at it`s best! Surrealistic post-apocalyptic analog tale with subtle digital flavoring introducing reality shaped into inner brain atmospheric vistas. OFFICIAL TRAILER

[KING OF THE HILL]
is a hilarious cartoon for adults, which turns rather boring [at first glance] show into complete grotesque action. The most interesting part is that such weird and funny things people are doing in real life.
Straightforward hillbilly [Hank] always protects his son [Booby] from everything interesting and unusual, turning his life into complete boredom. Presumably such disposition comes from the fact that Cotton, the father of Hank, counts him as the most miserable man in the world, don’t value his interests and opinions under any circumstances.
Tired of boring-linear-dumb movies without proper atmosphere at all? Today i’m suggesting another underrated gem of film industry. Mystical detective thriller [IDENTITY]
. No more about it, just watch.

Today’s reality is a quite harsh and fast-changing landscape. We’ve got outbreaks, diseases, constant price increase, wars. On top of that there is insane autocrat shaking his suitcase with red button. What else do we need to feel alive?
[Leave The World Behind]
is a loooong suspense thriller with unusual cinematic style. I like such things, which stands out from the grey crowd of mainstream sh#te.
The main features:
Despite the widespread opinion regarding [Seagal’s]
sanity and his tendency to star in a very low budget trash movies i like couple of his flicks.
[Hard To Kill]
► one of his fist appearances on the screen, a little bit excessively touching, but pretty neat [Under Siege 1]
► simply the best movie to date [Under Siege 2: Dark Territory]
► not so good as first part, but definitely worth to watch HARD TO KILL UNDER SIEGE 1 UNDER SIEGE 2: DARK TERRITORY SPECIAL CATEGORY:
Need a really gooood detective movie? Here is one: [Zodiac]
. No weak acting. No dumb computer visuals. Very long, detailed, quite linear, but solid. Film is watched without any interruptions in one single breath.
