HOW TO INSTALL X-RAY PROTOCOL IN WINDOWS 7 X64 OPERATING SYSTEM
Note: This document covers the installation procedure only, it does not include network configuration.
- First, download the specific version of X-Ray that is compatible with Windows 7
- Second, since the V2RayN client has dropped Windows 7 support, you may encounter compatibility warnings.
You need to identify which version retains the latest features while still running on Windows 7.
I have already done this research for you, so you don’t have to explore the wilderness.
The latest compatible version of the application is 7.6.19.
You may see some warnings in the V2Ray software logs,
but the core functionality works smoothly without any hiccups.
To make X-Ray and V2RayN work you must obey following requirements:
- fully update Windows 7 x64 ESU [January 2026] / reboot
- install latest Visual C++ libs [v0.102 2025] / reboot
- install latest .Net Desktop [v8.0.25] / reboot
- install V2RayN [V7.6.19 2025]
- put unzipped X-Ray Windows 7 build [v26.2.6] into /V2RayN/bin/xray
- and tada! you are good to go!
Happy Windows 7 hacking!
Despite it’s age, Windows 7 is still on the top of the technology stack!
