HOW TO TURN OFF TRACING CRAP IN MODERN CAMERAPHONE LIKE XIAOMI 15 ULTRA PLUS SOME RANT AND UPDATES REGARDING WEBSITE AND MY CURRENT INTERESTS

UPDATED ON: 2025-09-13

Recently i’ve stumbled upon the fact that my Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is running Android 15, lagging in a strange way.
I decided to eliminate stuttering by tuning gadget appropriately.
Not long ago i solved such problems by [rooting the device] , but now i simpy don’t have time for such luxury.

In this blip note we will discuss settings, that affect performance of the smartphone by a substantiation margin.
Of course you can exploit widely known setting and switch from Balanced CPU profile to Performance one.

Settings > Battery > Current mode > Performance mode

But you should known that there are better ways to do optimization by means of using more professional approach.
Today we are excavating Developer Options area.
I am sure that most of you know how to enable Developer settings on Android device.

Settings > Additional settings > Developer options

There is a plethora of various settings in modern Android versions,
that is why for better convenience i grouped them per their state ON / OFF.

OFF STATE

Select log level
Disable default frame rate for games
Enable Wi-Fi Verbose Logging
Window animation scale
Transition animation scale
Animator duration scale
Logging level

ON STATE

Wi-Fi scan throttling
Tethering hardware acceleration
High speed Bluetooth transfers
Enable Bluetooth page scan
App cache optimization
Turn on system optimization

Modernize Bluetooth stack:

Bluetooth AVRCP Version > AVRCP 1.6
Bluetooth MAP Version > 1.4

And now we reached the most important section that could potential squeeze a bit more performance even for high-end devices.

Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > System Tracing

Android is a logging festival on your devices. Let’s minimize risks. Tracing and logging options that should be disabled.

Record trace
Record CPU profile
Collect Windscope traces
Trace debuggable applications
Long traces
Continuous heap profile
Categories > Leave checked only "power:Power Management"

And the most import thing to do is to set Logger buffer size to the maximum value.

Logger buffer sizes > 8Mb

It is quite illogical, to say the least, but it really works.
Despite that previously we turned off all potentially bad things you should remember that
there are loads of telemetry and tracing stuff that can’t be turned off completely
due to not-private and invasive nature of modern Android.
We are forcing system to report telemetry in a larger chunks of data on less frequent basis,
so we are offloading CPU to some extent.

Also you can dump tracing cache be means of:

  • Clear heap dumb process
  • Clear saved files

Some misc settings related to overall convenience

Default USB configuration > File Transfer
Show taps > On
Force activities to be resizable > On

RANT SECTION

As you may noticed already i’have done some cosmetic changes here and there, hope that they will not spoil the design of the page.
Recently i noticed that it looks like i’m kinda running out of energy and losing interest to many things:
starting from entertainment stuff like movies and ending with people interaction, maybe such things happen because i’m simply getting old.

Things that fueling me and help to [still] hold the grip firmly.

  • Windows 7 related [science and hacker magic]
  • Learning English by means of this project and [Duolingo]
  • Webdev activities including [actual page] , [pixelcode] and [github]
  • Personal [TikTok stream] dedicacated to tracker music of the 90s
[maybe some day i even post my personal stuff if i feel ready for it]
  • Contributions to [microstock websites]
[but frankly spaeaking i’m slowly losing interest in this “entertainment” due to disgusting royalties they pay to contributors]
  • Interest to build the fastest possible Windows 7 machine based upon Ryzen or Threadripper and how far they will go in terms of nanometers.
[cpu + mobo + ram package, everything else i already own]
  • Cameraphone with 200mm periscope and at least 1/1.2" sensor
[Huawei Pura 80 Ultra failed my expectations in terms of pixel quality, so it’s fading interest also because of microstock decline]

If you really like my activities and count them as neat and useful, don’t let me stop you to [support me financially] .
