<TO PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY CHOOSE ANOTHER FOLDER> ▀ SLACKER'S FIX

Exploiting my DAP [which is running Android 12] i almost immediately run into a recent novelty of modern Android versions [ >11 ]
of taking away permission from not in ROM applications to write to the root of sd-cards.
In order to make changes to the SD card, third-party software should request permission to access the SD card’s root folder.
However, Android now restricts this by offering to choose a folder other than the root folder [“for the sake of your security”].
The problem is that software is usually written to expect access to the root folder.
And when it receives access to a directory other than the root folder, it fairly shows an error, thinking that it is somekind of scam.
This results in a successful GUI cycle loop for the user.
Yay! The top feces prize is taken by “efficiency” managers crew, once again.

You can “fix the quirk” by means of:

  • rooting (brutal way)
  • side loading tweaks via adb (easier way)
  • doing tricks with split-screen (exploiting internal glitches of Android, boring)

But i’m not going to do any of these grimaces, because i’m a super slacker today.
Easy solution to this issue is an installation of glorious [RS File Manager] that somehow workaround that google “security measures”.
I don’t have any desire to look into it further and discover how it works, because it just works as expected!

That concludes today’s entry.
I’m quite uncertain about the reason of why I documented this information, i could just simply provide a link and presto!
But anyway, have a good evening!
