TRIPLE SCREEN LAPTOP CONFIGURATION ▀ HOW COOL IS THAT?
I am mostly used to my triple screen desktop configuration and was wondering how this idea
could be implemented in the laptop realm. The result of my internal discussions was the purchase of two portable 14" screens.
They come as a single unit.As for branding it is [KEFEYA 14" S3]
.
Despite the rather low price of ~250 dollars for a pair of displays, they have a very good quality.
By quality, i mean viewing angles and color reproduction.
Making a draft look easily show that these cheap displays easily match the quality of say Lenovo laptop.
The screens have a matte, non-reflective finish, which I really appreciate.
Not bad at all i must say. Weight is approximately around 2 kilos, such fact can force us to count device as a portable solution.
Unit can be plugged trough USB type-C or HDMI cables and do not require any additional drivers.
Also there is a nice case to carry all monitor goodies.
Here are a few examples of how this configuration looks:
14" LENOVO X1 CARBON GEN 5 IS COMPATIBLE
15.6" DELL PRECISION 7520 IS NOT COMPATIBLE
Neat fit occurred in the case of the Lenovo X1.
Dell Precision 7520 is a miss even despite the fact that it is a 15.6" laptop and the maximum supported is 16".
The mismatch was due to Dell’s solid & sturdy construction being too large for the monitor frame.
Oh, and one more thing regarding compatibility.
Linux Endeavour, which is based upon Arch Linux, handled device without any issues on both laptops.
Windows Server 2008 R2 disobeyed and would not like to see second monitor on Dell Precision 7520,
however i must be honest and tell you that i don’t spent
too much time figuring out why it is not working.
Also take a note that USB Type-C on the Precision 7520 is pretty old [~2017 or something],
so maybe there were some incompatibilities because of that.
To sum things up! The device will be helpful for those of you who are often on the go and like to travel a lot.
It is inexpensive, has good color reproduction and wide viewing angles and is pretty lightweight.
Okay then, that’s it for today!
