DEEP DIVE TO AMIGA 4000 ▀ THE MOST ADVANCED COMPUTER OF EARLY 90S

The Amiga 4000 is a computer that was way ahead of its time, and this was true for many years in a row.
The architecture had no competing alternatives for a very long period.

Ability to install an additional processor through a special accelerator board.
So in the end you own multi processor platform (in 1995!).

Custom chips for hardware accelerated processing requests for I/O systems, sound, video.

Three levels of RAM: fast memory (conventional ram), chip memory on the motherboard,
the possibility to increase the RAM even more by means of Zorro III adapter.

Support for two dedicated graphics cards to display images with different resolutions on different monitors.
Availability of built-in video output (so three in total!).

Compared to all of the above, such trifles as support for SCSI, IBM-compatible boards and incredible expandability of the computer
by means of support for all imaginable and unimaginable interfaces can not even be mentioned.

In short, innovative solutions of the time when the world of IBM-compatible computers worked in a simple MSDOS.
And abilities of Windows 3.11 did not represent any competition at all.

Modern community continue to support platform by releasing new kickstart ROMs, doing CPU accelerators.
Users install whopping amounts of RAM, replacing old SCSI hard drives with fast compact flash cards via adapter
and upgrading their systems with modern USB solutions. Operating system is also in tact and supported by patches.

So, here is a scrupulous analysis of the famous computer architecture. Enjoy!
