My claims to previously owned cables were excessive fragility and the fact that they are prone to physical damage too much. Although that i’m using my hardware with care, wire breakage happens quite often. So i decided to go a bit overkill in terms of elimination of this nasty problem.
[Dunu Hulk Pro]
is a confirmation of my words. It’s a top of the line copper-based wire of Dunu branding.

After a year of extensive testing i find out that [Shanling M6]
has some flaws, which won’t fit my requirements. It is an excellent 2-way DAC DAP in terms of sound quality. All my claims have purely ergonomic nature: Dim display, big form factor [at least from my point of view], weak battery life.
These factors forced me to look at [Ibasso DX240]
player.
In previous posts i’ve [already mentioned]
Andrew Saga’s rants about history of music tracking, but i think that provided info are not covering topic fully. So, here is one more excellent video clip, which i dug up on yt recently. Enjoy!

Have you ever heard about digital audio workstation written in assembly language?
Yeah, that’s [SAW Studio]
.
32-bit version can be launched even in “obsolete” Windows XP.
64-bit version released in 2019 is Windows 7 compatible.

Today i want to share my custom made 80s theme for Renoise tracker.
RENOISE `84 [v0.4b] [GRAB IT FROM MEGA.NZ]
To install it just double click on downloaded XRNC files. Renoise will launch and install theme automatically.
Also, i’ve figured out how to change internal font and set custom mouse cursor. Tracker doesn’t provide GUI for such options. All settings related to current skin could be found here:
There are plenty of digital audio workstation software available today.
Fruity Loops, Apple Logic, Cakewalk….
but what make them so unimportant anymore?
[Previously]
i already wrote about Chinese audio manufacturers and their quality products. Till today i used quad driver FiiO FA7
earphones powered by my trusty cameraphone [Nokia PureView 808]
.
After some not so long considerations i’ve decided to try out something new with bigger puch and almost randomy selected [Shanling M6]
DAP paired with [FiiO FA9]
6-driver IEMs. I know that using Nokia 808 was quite limiting factor for quad driver earphones like FiiO FA7.
I already wrote about [Neutron player]
.
Provided information will be useful if you are using Neutron with high resolution digital audio player [DAP] and would to like
squeeze a bit more of that quality.
Here is a list of the most important settings to maximaze your audio output to the boundaries of existence.
Just a quick note to share high-quality Android audio player with all of you. Software is developed for hi-res hardware digital audio players like FiiO, Shanling, iBasso. The most important feature is bit-perfect OS independent decoding and audio processing.
Speaking about bright sides of application: precise audio reproduction, loads of professional tools.
However, there is one notable downside: user interface and ergonomics are very confusing to say the least.
For some time I’ve owned Asus Essense STX II sound-card with cool hardware internals, but sh#t-like drivers. Very common situation for modern reality. Except the fact that card is not so modern at all. Asus dropped [driver support]
for Windows 7 @ 2015. How cool is that?
After some web searching I’ve stumbled upon [Maxedtech drivers]
. The overall quality is better, some bugs are fixed, some appeared, but even at this point was not satisfied with system stability.
Do we really need expensive Sennheiser? In youth dates, I was fond of exploiting expensive audio technics. As for earphones, my favorite brand was Bayerdynamic.
However, some time ago I have discovered relatively inexpensive headphones from Chinese brand [Fiio]
. As a listener of wide gamut of music like ambient, trance, dub, psybient, jazz, metal: I have to say that this headphones provide totally unexpected level of audio quality. Especially if we’ll consider the price.
