RYZEN 7000 ▀ POWER RELATED ISSUES ON WINDOWS 7
Messing around with the recently purchased Ryzen 7700 i ran into some rather annoying power related problems.
The computer and monitor would go into sleep mode after about 5 minutes, despite the appropriate power settings in
the Control Panel and third party software such as Process Lasso and Park Control being residential in memory.
I had to break my head to get out of this situation and traditionally i am sharing with you the solution I found.
Modern UEFI bios is a mess, needed settings scattered around without any logic or ergonomics in mind, so
it is quite easy to get lost in overwhelming amount of settings.
Here is a list of BIOS settings which can help you to solve similar problems in the future:
- ErP ready
- Global C-state Control
- Power Supply Idle Control
Turn them off for your own good.
Power Supply Idle Control should be set in Low Current Idle state.
Global C-state Control & Power Supply Idle Control settings located here:
OVERCLOCKING ► ADVANCED CPU CONFIGURATION ► AMD CBS
In some rare case boot process can stuck on BIOS logo screen, in those cases disable Resizable BAR in BIOS.
To disable hibernation type in a command line with administrative privileges:
powercfg.exe /hibernate off
I’ll update the note if i’ll find anything important.
From your side, if you find out new stuff [drop me a line] .
And one more thing, expect to see 7950X retro benchmarks in a month or so.
