Total Annihilation [1997] ■ The Most Underrated Strategy Of All Time
The strategy that was outshined by Starcraft and Command & Conqueror.
[Total Annihilation]
was the first RTS game that introduced true 3d models for units,
true physics for a ballistics and realistic vehicle terrain movement.
Not to mention things like commander unit mechanics and almost 3d like map
[actually map was two dimensional with some smart heights applied].
Two expansion packs were released [The Core Contingency] and [Battle Tactics] .
Anyways, I’m not going to recount every innovation this game introduced to the market,
because I’ll do a much worse job than this comprehensive one-and-a-half-hour video.
