How To Boost Performance Of GeForce 3xxx Series Cards In Windows 7
I am pretty satisfied with the performance of full-screen applications on my EVGA 3090Ti card.
But recently i stumbled upon very curios note by Canonkong the author of [modern USB3 drivers]
for AMD-based CPUs.
He mentioned interesting fact that Windows 7 users [can enhance performance]
of
their 3XXX cards even further by enabling re-sizable bar support in BIOS.
Also you should enable Above 4G decode option in BIOS at the same time.
Take a note that CSM support should be disabled.
Doing so you’ll get additional 5-7% boost in software that utilize GPU in a heavy scenarios.
To achieve this you will need to install [FlashBoot]
and apply Windows7 ISO to it.
After that program will spit out recompiled image with modified bootmgfw.efi file in the EFI folder,
which should be replicated to Windows installation directory.
C:\Windows\Boot\EFI\bootmgfw.efi
Take a note that CSM module in BIOS should be disabled and Windows 7 should be in UEFI mode.
Also i don’t have time to check this information, but taking into account the trusted status of CanonKong
we can surely rely on this information without any grain of salt.
Please, drop me a line if you successfully applied the hack and describe your step-by-step procedure,
i’ll glue-stick this information to the article to make it more readable and close to real life.
Windows 8.1 users do not need to apply this hack, since system already UEFI enabled.
