If i remember correctly i already promised [not to touch any cameraphones again]
. But what convinced me to take another crack at it was the numerous reviews claiming “it’s the best cameraphone in the world” running Android 13. As you may know, Android 14 brought many groundbreaking changes [at least from my point of view]. One of them is the restriction on installing applications targeted at Android 6.0. Loads of cr#p services and telemetry dialers are included also.
Somewhere in the previous posts i have already done [small rant]
regarding the desired specification of modern smartphone. After fiddling around with the latest [Oppo Find X6 Pro]
aka the best modern cameraphone, i come to a conclusion with myself on how the smartphone specification of my dreams should look like. Consider this as a revisited version of the previous document. And yeah, you will surely see the Oppo review in a while when i free myself up from the daily routine.
The time has come for another technology bombshell. You waited for it, didn’t you?
Looking at the atrocious [interfaces of modern applications]
I don’t know when the idea of proper convenience has become obsolete. Maybe around 2013 or so. The time period is debatable, but the main thing here is that we are distancing ourselves not only from real engineering, but more scarily from common sense. The topic affects not only software stuff but hardware products as well.

Finally Nokia PureView 808 set is complete. Red, black and white. Currently i’m not thinking about sale of this treasure chest. But if you are willing to offer good five-digit number amount i may reconsider my statement [or may not]. This will be quite hard decision to accept. Moreover, such bundle in almost like new condition [can’t be bought even on Ebay]
. Anyways, it is surely nice to have set of unique camera-phones in excellent condition, especially if they are not surpassed in daylight resolution even in 2024.

CURRENTLY TEST IS NOT OPTIMIZED FOR MOBILE VIEW! IMAGE WIDTH >1600px IS RECOMMENDED! ▒ DIRECT COMPARISON In the very beginning of the test I underline the fact that we are comparing only resolution and not the dynamic range. In this category older FSI sensor is an outsider, for sure. Today’s rival is [IPHUCK 15 PRO MAX]
with almost the same sensor size as Nokia. As you may already know Nokia PureView 808 comes with 1/1.
▒ BRIEF REASONS TO CONSIDER Very neat phone dialer & sms messenger [device supports 3.5G] High quality audio chip High quality stereo audio recording 3.5mm audio jack Detachable battery pack Solid construction Ergonomically cool due to 4" form factor and unusual shape with camera bump No data mining and user tracking due to obsolescence of Symbian ▒ BRIEF PHOTO ARGUMENTS Awesome resolution and detail Unparallel pixel-wise quality Real glass in lens elements is present [not just plastic sh#te like in modern “flagships” [xiaomi 12s ultra]
No pubertal compute stuff Xenon flash Very well designed camera application Incredible JPG-engine, which easily competes with modern RAW in terms of provided detail Enthusiast mod, which increase resolution to real 41.

I’ve pointed to the fact that Nokia 808 is the most powerful camera-phone in terms of provided detail. I would like to remind you that previously tested [Samsung S20]
and even [1-inch Panasonic CM1]
can’t stand in direct competition to Nokia 808.
Here are sample pictures.
Some time ago, I had a VERY LONG post with detailed comparisons on ugly blogger.
But after I was banned and totally de-platformed from g services I’ve lost all text material of the article.
Don’t have time to revive all stuff completely.
The best thing, which i can do for you is to share archive with all test materials:
pictures in RAW & jpg formats.
