Node.js dropped Windows 7 “support” rigth after [version number 13]
.What a load of sh#t. Today i’ll tell you how to overcome this nonsense and run latest LTS version [Node.JS 18.x]
without any problems. More newer versions may work also. I’ll leave you some room for experiments. Recently i found excellent already [patched installer of NodeJS 18]

We will not be ending support for Windows 7 / Windows 8 before the release of the Firefox 115 ESR, so the Firefox 115 ESR will support Windows 7 / Windows 8 at least until 3Q 2024. First 115 version of software will be released on July 4, 2023.

is confirmed to work with Windows 7. Ryzen 8000 reported to use the same AM5 socket as Ryzen 7000.

Recently i’ve switched to newer version of Vegas Pro. Tweeeenty to be precise. I’m using Vegas for basic montage of my tracker music clips for [Tik-Tok channel]

Yesterday we’ve got [last security update for Windows 7]
. There will be no more security patches for Windows 7. At least on generic non-point-of-sales machines.
Total of 40 vulnerabilities were fixed. Nice one! Compare it with 64 vulnerabilities on newest windows 11 telemetry gathering platform. Numbers clearly show benefits of mature platform.

I don’t see any limitations in Windows 7. Operating system is a rock solid formation patched up with latest ESU updates.
I think that Windows 7 become another Windows XP of the time. Choice of veteran users. OS for people who understand how computer is working.

additional three years of Windows 7 support won’t happen than we have an alternative solution.
Usually i don’t advertise non-free services, but this one is an exception. [0patch]
is micro-patching service, which fix problems of Windows 7 in computer RAM on-the-fly rather than changing system files on drive storage. I recommend this one, because i’m going to use it by myself right after ESU updates will come to EOL.

. After some fun with it I’ve decided to drop it in favor to retro stuff.
Intel Xeon CPU based around Broadwell tech: [E5-2696v4 22c/44t]
became the chip of the choice. It is OEM version of top of the line [Xeon E5-2699v4]
. It is a bit slower, around marginal 3-4%, but costs significantly less than 2699v4.
Recently [Ghacks.net]
reported about almost unreal rumour regarding [another 3 years of extended support for Windows 7]
. If news are true, consider this as a gift from above, because i can’t stand windows 10/11 abominations and Linux is just not ready for serious multimedia workstation workloads.

You may already noticed [list of system tweakers]
in Windows 7 header section. Just wanted to describe process a bit with the help of plain words and some png pictures for crispy clearness and buttery smooth understanding of the process.
By default software forbids execution when you are using classic desktop and aero is not enabled.
However, there is a nice workaround. By adding –no-dwm-warning switch to starting shortcut you can avoid internal restriction.
"C:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo\Photo.exe" --no-dwm-warning NOTE: with some graphical drivers you may experience visual artifacts and not so precise image rendering.
